Skin Care Treatments
Laser Skin Rejuvenation
Laser skin rejuvenation is a popular treatment option for restoring aging skin to a smoother and more youthful appearance. This term includes several different noninvasive techniques used to treat wrinkles, sagging skin, brown spots, enlarged pores and more.
Different types of laser treatments are used to treat different skin conditions. Some of the most commonly used procedures include:
FotoFacial® is an electrical optical synergy (ELOS) photorejuvenation treatment used to enhance the appearance of the skin. FotoFacial uses Intense Pulsed Light (IPL), Diode Laser and/or Radio Frequency (RF) to enhance the different components of your skin. This treatment can be used to treat the face, chest, hands or arms and gently focuses light energy on the preferred area. Most patients require 5 or 6 sessions to reach their desired results. It is most effective in treating rosacea, sun spots, age spots, spider veins and hyperpigmentation.
ReFirme™ Skin Tightening
ReFirme™ Skin Tightening uses patented elos™ laser technology to lift and smooth the skin to achieve non-invasive facial rejuvenation. This treatment combines bipolar radiofrequency energy with laser light for precise heating on all skin types. Skin is noticeable smoother, more luminous and toned after treatment with ReFirme, which can be used on the face, neck, upper arms, abdomen and knees. ReFirme treatments are fast, safe, virtually painless and effective, and require no downtime.
Matrix IR™ Treatment
Matrix IR™ is a non-invasive procedure used to help reduce facial wrinkles to create a younger and more relaxed appearance. This treatment can help reduce frown lines, crow’s feet, nasolabial folds, marionette lines and other facial wrinkles by stimulating collagen production and therefore tightening the skin. The targeted area is heated with a laser to produce more collagen and firm sagging skin. The Matrix IR treatment is performed over a series of three to five treatments that typically last 30 minutes each and is painless for most patients.
Results from laser treatments are usually not immediate and can take several months to appear. Several sessions may be needed in order to reach the patient’s desired results, but laser techniques are often effective in completely eliminating age spots and other concerns.
Although safer than traditional resurfacing procedures, there are some risks associated with laser skin rejuvenation, such as unwanted lightening or darkening of the treated area or scarring. Choosing an experienced doctor can help reduce these risks.
Cosmetic Skin Care
Over time, our skin changes as a result of aging, sun damage and several other factors, causing wrinkles, pigmentation and scarring to develop on our face, neck, chest and hands. Many patients unhappy with these changes seek cosmetic treatments to restore their appearance and maintain beautiful, youthful and fresh-looking skin. These nonsurgical treatments safely and effectively enhance the appearance of the skin while still allowing patients to look like themselves.
While aging and sun damage are the most common causes of unwanted skin changes, certain conditions can also negatively affect the appearance of the skin, such as:
- Hormonal changes
- Lack of exercise
- Medical conditions such as acne and rosacea
- Poor diet
There are several different treatments available to help reverse or improve facial changes and allow patients to restore a refreshed, younger-looking appearance that reflects the way they feel about themselves. Many patients choose to combine one or more rejuvenation options, or to combine their treatment with plastic surgery procedures such as a facelift or brow lift to maximize results.
