Dr. Jane Semel, MD, is a distinguished ophthalmologist based in California, known for her expertise in treating and preventing various eye diseases. She earned her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from Claremont Men’s College before pursuing her graduate degree at the University of Southern California. Dr. Semel further honed her skills through an internship in Internal Medicine at USC/LAC Medical Center and completed her residency in Ophthalmology at White Memorial Medical Center in Los Angeles. She also undertook a specialized fellowship in the management of Retinovitreal conditions at the same institution.

Board-certified and fellowship-trained in Ophthalmology, Dr. Semel is licensed to practice in California. She was among the first ophthalmologists in Los Angeles to pioneer the use of the revolutionary Light Adjustable Lens during cataract surgery and implement laser-assisted cataract surgery techniques.
