What to Expect During an IPL Treatment

Your procedure will be performed in-office at our state-of-the-art El Segundo clinic. Treatments typically last about 30 minutes.

Your provider will cleanse your skin, apply a cooling gel, and deliver precise pulses of light to the treatment area. You may feel a warm snapping sensation, but most patients find the treatment tolerable.

What to Expect After Your IPL Treatment

Following your procedure, your skin may feel warm or look slightly red—similar to a mild sunburn. Be sure to avoid direct sun exposure and use sunscreen daily to protect your skin as it heals and ensure optimal results. Pigmentation may darken temporarily before gradually fading.

Most patients see improvements after just one session, but a series of four to six treatments spaced several weeks apart often delivers the best outcome. Results last six to 12 months, on average.
