Meet the Team
Dr. Julia Larson
Dr. Julia Larson, previously Dr. Katsev, joined the practice in January 2023. She is originally from Santa Barbara and completed her undergraduate degree at the University of California, Los Angeles. She then moved to St. Louis, Missouri, for optometry school at UMSL College of Optometry. After graduation she did a residency in ocular disease, focusing on glaucoma, macular degeneration and dry eye, at the Baltimore VA Medical Center and the Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins. Dr. Larson then joined her now-husband, Dr. Eric Larson, while he finished up his orthopedic residency and hand surgery fellowship. Dr. Larson is a hand surgeon at Cedars-Sinai Kerlan-Jobe Institute in Santa Monica. Dr. Larson comes from a family of eyes. Her father is a renowned corneal specialist from Santa Barbara and her sister and mother are optometrists as well.
The Larsons are live in Manhattan Beach and whenever they are not working, they are out running, playing volleyball or spending time with family.

Dr. Jane Semel is skilled, respected, and board-certified and fellowship trained in Ophthalmology, and is licensed to practice in the state of California. She specializes in the treatment and prevention of eye disease.
